The Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region is a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities who live in their own homes achieve independence through offering a full suite of consumer directed services. ILCWR values and supports continuous learning in a dynamic and welcoming work environment.

We are currently seeking a Contract Full Time Attendant in our Waterloo Area to assist Adults with Physical Disabilities that are able to direct their care.

Position Details:

  • Guaranteed 64 hours biweekly
  • Day shift: hours between 6:00-14:30
  • Work every other weekend
  • Daily schedule changes as required
  • Available to work throughout our Waterloo Area (includes: Waterloo, Elmira, St.Jacobs primarily and Waterloo Region)

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers
  • Provide some invasive tasks as directed by consumers
  • May assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping
  • Record duties performed for consumer, if required
  • Keep Supervisor informed of incidents and events affecting care
  • Train new Staff


  • High School Diploma or GED certificate
  • PSW or related experience an asset
  • Satisfactory police record check
  • First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Drivers Licence and access to reliable vehicle
  • Available to work every other weekend


  • Competitive starting wage ($18.75/hr WITH direct service premium=Base $16.25/hr plus direct service premium of $2.50/hr)
